Education and training systems throughout the world are a dynamic system. One should keep always himself/herself updated along with the tune of changing scenario of every sphere of life. Education and training are the key resources available to us to meet the challenges in every sphere of life in present as well of the future. This also applies to education and training in the forestry segment including conventional forestry, new techniques in forestry and wildlife. Forestry courses and the training environment have undergone significant changes since last decade. Training in the forestry sector, are viewed as specialised qualifications and the direction in which foresters should be developed, in circumstances of forestry works. The Development Circle aims to contribute significantly to the development of human resources in the forestry sector with a visionary training curriculum within the area of forestry and wildlife.
Objective:
Training programmes for the various categories of Forest Staff for capacity building is organised by the Development Circle for better management of forests and wildlife Protected Areas. To face the unique problems in Forestry Sector and to fight against the new challenges, training in the form of refreshers' course or short courses on soft skill development are formulated as per the calendar of works published by the Government of West Bengal. In accordance with these view numerous one day workshops were organised for front line field staffs to upgrade their soft skills on management to mitigate their day to day stress and managerial problems. The main aim is to rejuvenate forest staff for better management of forests, afforestation, soil conservation, wildlife management, control of man-animal conflict, social forestry, and protection of forests through Joint Forest Management (JFM) and application of modern technology in forestry.
